Steve or anybody, when using the slideshow in Lightroom, is there a setting to fit portrait orientation images to screen size ? I am getting top and bottom of pics cropped off, and cannot see any option for portrait pics to be resized.

Mike, I'm not sure I understand your question.

If you drag the lines bordering the image with your mouse.. you can make it fill up as much of the screen as you wish.

Does that help? If not, please post a screen shot of what you're trying to do.

OK, I am in lightroom, with the "Slideshow" tab selected. I've got a number of images selected for "Slideshow", some landscape format, some portrait ......when I start "slideshow" the landscape (horizontal) images fill the screen and show the full image, the portrait images fill the screen with  the full width of the image but with top and bottom cut off. I would have thought that it is possible to show portrait images automatically resized to full screen height images (with blank screen on either side) but for the life of me I cannot see any option to select this (although it is probably right in front of me LOL )

In the upper right corner, is the "zoom to fit frame" box selected?  Make sure this is not selected.

Then.. look for the faint white lines and drag them into the position to give you the desired view.

I've played with this trying to recreate your issue and only the "zoom to fit frame" option seems like it would be at issue.

See ViewOne Attachment for the normal view with the box unchecked:

And with the box checked the top/bottom is cut off.

Good. I'm glad you've got it squared away.

It's always the little things..
